Turn something precious into something you can stitch and keep forever
A handwritten recipe. A special note you never want to lose. A child's drawing you can’t quite part with. I’ll transform your special keepsake into a custom, stitchable embroidery pattern that is ready for you to stitch by hand.
How it works:
-
Submit your image
Upload a clear, high-quality photo or scan using the form provided after purchase -
I create a truly customized pattern unique to you
I carefully adapt your piece into a custom, stitchable format -
Review the proof
You’ll receive one digital image via email to review and approve -
Approve the design & await delivery
Once approved, I mail you your custom-designed, water-soluble pattern sheet -
Stitch & reveal
Simply stitch over the design, then rinse it away. Only your stitching will remain creating a very special project. Use whichever stitching method you are most comfortable with. I elected to go with a simple backstitch for mine in order to preserve the exact handwriting
What you'll receive:
- A custom-designed water-soluble embroidery pattern (printed and mailed)
- A digital instruction sheet explaining how to attach the pattern to fabric and then stitch over it
No fabric or thread included — so you can choose exactly how and where you’d like to stitch your piece. If you’d like help sourcing fabric (napkins, aprons, etc.), feel free to reach out — I’m always happy to help.
Sizing your design:
All patterns are created to fit within an 8.5” x 11” page, but your final stitched design can be scaled within that space.
When ordering, please let me know:
- If you’d like it sized for a specific item (e.g. napkin corner, apron front, etc.)
- Or if you’d like me to choose the best layout and size for you
Not sure? Don’t worry — send me a note and I’ll guide you through it 🙂
A few important notes:
- For best results, please send a clear, well-lit, in-focus image (a scan or photo)
- The clearer the image, the more accurately I can preserve the original details
- Simple drawings and clearly written recipes translate best for stitching
- Your design will be carefully adapted while still preserving its character
Proofing:
You’ll receive one digital proof before printing to make sure everything looks right. Minor adjustments or small tweaks are welcome — this is your piece, and I want it to feel right.
Timing & availbility:
- Proofs are sent within 5–7 business days after your form is submitted
- Once approved, your pattern will be printed and mailed within 2–3 business days
Turnaround time begins once your form is submitted.
This is a small, limited release with only a set number of spots available. I’m keeping this intentionally small so I can give each piece the attention it deserves.
This is because each piece is:
- Individually designed by me (not automated)
- Carefully adjusted to be stitchable by hand
- Reviewed and refined before you even receive the proof for approval
It’s a slower process — but that’s part of what makes it special.

Nu, the details?
🧵 What are the different types of kits that are available?
- In general, I offer three types of physical kits, depending on how many supplies you already have at home and how much of the full stitchy experience you want included:
- Project Kit:
Best for stitchers who already have a healthy little stash at home — floss, hoops, needles, scissors, and the usual suspects. Project Kits include the special materials needed for that design, such as printed patterns, water-soluble stick-and-stitch transfers, napkins, acrylic cases, or other project-specific pieces. These kits are great when you want the project, but do not need the full supply bundle. - Complete Kit:
Best for beginners, gift-givers, or anyone who wants the convenience of opening the package and getting started. Complete Kits include everything you need to begin stitching, including the printed pattern, instructions, DMC floss, and needle. Depending on the project, some Complete Kits may also include extra helpful supplies like fabric, a hoop, a needle threader, or other stitchy goodies. - Keepsake Kit:
My most premium kit option. Keepsake Kits are designed for special occasions, meaningful gifts, and heirloom-style projects. These are often made in small quantities, thoughtfully packaged, and may include personalization or extra finishing touches. The goal is for the experience to feel special for both the stitcher and the lucky recipient — because a handmade Jewish keepsake deserves a little fanfare. - All available kits are physical products and will be shipped directly to you within the timeframe listed on the product page. Please review the listing photos and description carefully, as each kit may include different materials depending on the design, Chag, or theme.
- Please feel free to reach out to me for kit customizations. I'm happy to help where possible.
🧵 What if I don't need any more supplies?
- No problem — your craft stash is safe from judgment over here!
- If you already have fabric, floss, needles, hoops, and everything else you need, you can purchase the digital pattern only whenever that option is available.
- Digital patterns include: A PDF pattern, digital instructions, a supply list, instant download access after purchase.
- This is the best option for stitchers who already have supplies at home and simply want the design.
- If you see a design you love but want a printed paper copy instead of a digital pattern, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help where possible.
🧵 Can I sell the items I make from your patterns?
- Yes. Finished pieces that you have hand-stitched from the exact pattern you have purchased from me may be sold in small quantities. If you’re planning a larger production run, please reach out first.
- However, Shalom Needlecraft patterns and designs are copyright protected and may not be redistributed, reproduced, altered, or shared in any manner.
- You do not have my implicit or explicit permission to machine-embroider any of my work.
