I don't know about you, but I've lost more needles than socks in the dryer (and that's saying something)! Then I discovered needle minders - those clever little stitching accessories that keep your needle from disappearing into the carpet abyss.
But the ones I found online were kinda... meh. So I decided to design my own Shalom Needlecraft version. Meet your new BFF - Shlomo the Stitchy Dreidel Needle Minder. This 1.5" Enamel, Magnetic Needle Holder keeps your needle safe, your fabric snag-free, and your sanity largely intact. Now my needle actually stays on my hoop instead of hiding in the carpet.

🧵 What in the world is a needle minder?!
- My new favorite stitching accessory, that's what!
- This needle holder is made of metal, so you can attach it to your fabric with either one, or both, of the removable magnets it comes with.
- Then, when you want to take a break from your stitching, simply place your needle so that it touches one of the magnets (either at the back or in the gap between the front magnet and the needle minder's cute face) and it will remain right where you left it!
🧵 So, what is included with my purchase?
- A sweet little character approximately 1.5" x 1.5" in size.
- Two removable neodymium magnets. You can keep one as a spare or use both for extra stability.
- But please remember: Neodymium magnets are pretty strong and therefore must be managed with care. If magnets are swallowed, they can cause serious injury or death. Please, please keep secure and far away from children, pets, and anyone else who may accidentally swallow small parts.
🧵 How do I mind (care for) my needle minder?
- Store separately from electronics and credits cards (magnets are sneaky like that).
- Avoid getting the needle minder wet and handle gently to maintain its luster and to prevent damage.
- Prevent prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Always remember: the two Neodymium magnets are removable (and pretty strong) and therefore must be managed with care. If magnets are swallowed, they can cause serious injury or death. Please, please keep secure and far away from children, pets, and anyone else who may accidentally swallow small parts.
🧵 Why does this needle minder behave differently to all other needle minders??
- My collection of needle minders use very high quality Neodymium magnets to keep your needle secure.
- Therefore, you may notice your needle “snap” or shift slightly as it settles into the strongest hold point — this is completely normal.
- For the firmest hold, use both magnets on the back and place your needle near the center of the design.
